Consolidated Travel Group is the result of the successful acquisition
of several student travel companies. The roots of the company began
in 1976 with the founding of Grad Night Tours. Grad Night was a
student travel company focusing on one-day turnarounds and overnight
graduation trips to Disneyland, Magic Mountain, the Santa Cruz
Beach Boardwalk as well as Trips to Waikiki, Hawaii.
In 1983,
Hawaii Travel, LTD. was formed by John Duby specializing in
one-week graduation packages to Hawaii and Historical East
Coast Trips to Washington D.C. Mr. Duby was an educator for
13 years taking his students to both destinations.
In 1989,
John Duby and Bruce Bitnoff joined their companies and changed
the name to USA Consolidated Travel Group. Since that merger,
USA has grown at an impressive rate adding additional travel
programs and other student travel companies to their company
including operations in Western Canada. In 2002, Patricia Neimeyer,
considered an expert in East Coast youth travel programs, joined
USA bringing another 20 years of experience to the company.
Since 1976,
USA's reputation and track record have received several distinguished
awards and accolades. US Space Camp named USA the official
Travel Agency of US Space Camp 1995-1996. The governor-appointed
California Sesquicentennial Commission named USA as the Preferred
Student and Youth Travel Company for California's Sesquicentennial
1998-2000. The Disney Corporation has awarded USA for several
years as one of their Top Youth Tour Operators and the largest
producer for Disneyland Grad Nite. The California Association
for Directors of Activities awarded USA with a Honorary Life
Member award for it's service "up and above the call" to
student leadership. The National Association of Student Councils
has awarded USA with the contract to provide travel and tours
to all of its 50 state delegates each year at their national
conference. And for the last seven years, the Sacramento Business
Journal has recognized USA as one of the fastest growing companies
in Sacramento, California where our headquarters are located.
USA is a charter member of SYTA (Student Youth Travel Association),
which provides a "Good Housekeeping" seal of approval
on member companies. This organization requires that its members
meet strict membership requirements and consumer protection
policies. SYTA's members accounted for more than $1 billion
USD in student and youth travel and provided trips for over
1.5 million participants in the year 2000. USA's CEO, Bruce
Bitnoff, was the founding President of this organization.
Nearly 750,000
participants have traveled with USA to destinations throughout
the world. USA now sells its programs nationwide, Canada, and
Puerto Rico.
